As part of Melt on Screen, and presented by Brisbane International Film Festival (BIFF), Dendy Powerhouse Outdoor Cinema is honoured to host some of the first ever QLD screenings I SAW THE TV GLOW and PROBLEMISTA.

From writer/director Jane Schoenbrun and starring Justice Smith and Brigette Lundy-Paine, I SAW THE TV GLOW follows a pair of teen outsiders whose obsessive pop-culture fandom causes rifts in their realities. Interweaving themes of gender, queerness, and identity with an elevated twist on genre, this emo-horror-drama is all about the ways art can be a lifeline for those who feel they don’t belong.

From writer/director/star Julio Torres comes PROBLEMISTA, a surreal adventure through the equally treacherous worlds of New York City and the U.S. Immigration system. A witty and wacky Tilda Swinton plays the boss from hell in this queer, quirky farce that’s filled with stunning visuals, absurdist comedy, and satirical commentary.
